Job description:
- Ensure delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality nursing care across all departments
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and standards
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor patient care outcomes and initiate quality improvement measures
- Lead, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff, including matrons, ward sisters, and nurses
- Plan staffing requirements, duty rosters, and leave schedules
- Participate in recruitment, training, orientation, and performance appraisal of nursing staff
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct among nursing personnel
- Organize continuing nursing education (CNE) and skill-development programs
- Guide and mentor nursing staff to enhance clinical and leadership competencies
- Support nursing students and interns during clinical postings
- Coordinate with doctors, department heads, and hospital management for smooth operations
- Act as a link between nursing staff and hospital administration
- Handle patient and family concerns related to nursing care
- Ensure infection control practices and patient safety protocols are followed
- Maintain nursing documentation and records accurately
- Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation activities
