Job description:
- Manage and supervise all pharmacy functions including inpatient, outpatient, sterile compounding, and clinical pharmacy services.
- Ensure accurate dispensing, storage, and distribution of medications.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with hospital policies.
- Lead initiatives in medication safety, inventory control, and pharmaceutical quality assurance.
- Promote rational drug use through evidence-based practices and clinical pharmacy support.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to optimize patient medication therapies.
- Participate in clinical rounds and medication review committees.
- Provide drug information and medication counseling to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Ensure full compliance with local health authorities (including DHA), JCI/Accreditation standards, and international best practices.
- Oversee controlled drugs handling and documentation.
- Prepare for and lead internal and external inspections/audits.
- Develop and manage the pharmacy department budget.
- Forecast pharmaceutical needs and manage procurement processes.
- Monitor cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient safety.
- Supervise pharmacy personnel recruitment, training, performance appraisal and professional development.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for pharmacy services.
- Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects.
- Investigate medication errors and implement corrective actions.
