Job description:
- Responsible for general surgical oncology care in the Karkinos comprehensive cancer centres established in multispecialty hospitals in consultation with the central multidisciplinary tumour board.
- Evaluate and independently provide surgical care for common cancers as per the national guidelines.
- Assist and manage patients undergoing complex surgical oncology procedures by senior surgeons.
- Train local surgeons in cancer diagnostic procedures and basic cancer surgery.
- Opportunities for career advance through sub-specialization and academic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall care of surgical oncology patients of the cancer centre.
- Independently perform surgeries for common cancers.
- Assist performing complex cancer surgeries by sub-specialized surgeons.
- Train other surgeons within the hospital and in the Karkinos cancer network on cancer diagnostic procedures and basic cancer surgeries,
- Quality control monitoring and skill upgradation.
a. Maintain and continuously improve the quality of care and safety.
b. Organize multidisciplinary tumour boards, morbidity mortality meetings, infection control, pain control and other quality monitoring activities.
c. Ensure efficient functioning of the service using technology platform.
d. Maintain a stress free work environment.
e. Participate in the health facility accreditation process.
f. Engage in continuous medical education and skill upgradation.
g. Organise community awareness for wellness, preventive health and screening programs for cancer.
- Participate in academic and research activities.
- Be accountable for maintaining accurate patient records as per Karkinos Protocol.
- Be accountable for Supervising, Mentoring and Training.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
