Job description:
- Patient Assessment and Management: Evaluate and manage critically ill patients, making decisions about treatment, testing, and procedures.
- Advanced Procedures: Perform critical procedures like intubation, central line placement, and arterial line insertion.
- Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, etc.) to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitoring and Interpretation: Monitor patient progress closely, interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., blood gas analysis, ECG, etc.).
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and families about their condition and prognosis, as well as with other healthcare professionals.
- Education and Mentorship: Teach and mentor medical residents, fellows, and other staff.
- Research and Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- On-Call: Be available for on-call duties and emergencies.
